On behalf of Mr. Jai Gupta, Managing Partner BIG FM Realty
Marking a strategic expansion beyond media, BIG FM Realty, led by Managing Partner Jai Gupta, is stepping into the real estate sector with a strong focus on trust, transparency, and end-user-centric development. Leveraging decades of brand credibility built through radio, the company aims to create thoughtfully designed spaces that resonate with modern homebuyers while tapping into high-potential, emerging markets like Bahraich in Uttar Pradesh.
Q1. What inspired your entry into the real estate sector, and how does this new venture align with your broader business vision?
Real estate felt like a natural evolution for us. Over decades in the media, Big FM has built genuine trust with millions of Indians. That kind of brand equity doesn’t stay confined to one industry. We saw an opportunity to take that same credibility, that same commitment to quality, and channel it into spaces where people actually live and grow. Real estate is deeply personal; it’s where life happens. Our broader vision has always been about meaningful impact at scale, and this venture is a powerful extension of exactly that philosophy.
Q2. How do you plan to differentiate your real estate offerings in an already competitive market?
Differentiation, for us, is less about disruption and more about clarity of intent. We are entering the market with a strong focus on trust, transparency, and end-user relevance; areas where gaps still exist. Our developments will be thoughtfully planned, not over-engineered, ensuring they remain both aspirational and practical. What also sets us apart is our ability to build emotional resonance through brand storytelling, backed by execution discipline. We’re not chasing volume; we’re building credibility, one project at a time. The idea is simple: to create developments people feel confident investing in and proud to be associated with.
Q3 What kind of projects or segments will you be focusing on in the initial phase?
We’re beginning with a landmark mixed-use township in Bahraich, Uttar Pradesh, an 72-acre development on Lucknow-Bahraich Road that we’re genuinely excited about. Phase I spans approximately 15 acres, centred on premium plotted development, and construction has already commenced. The master plan beautifully integrates residential plots, group housing, commercial spaces, and retail, creating a true lifestyle destination rather than a standalone project. We’ve deliberately chosen an emerging growth corridor over a saturated metro market. Bahraich represents exactly the kind of high-potential, untapped geography where thoughtful development creates transformative, lasting value for communities and investors.
Q4. How do you see media and real estate converging in your business model?
It’s a fascinating synergy, honestly. Media taught us the art of building relationships at scale; understanding what people aspire to, communicating authentically, and earning trust consistently over time. Those are not soft skills; they’re strategic advantages. In real estate, where buyer confidence is everything, walking in with Big FM’s brand recognition is a tremendous head start. We can market differently, connect more genuinely, and establish credibility faster than conventional developers. Our media heritage also gives us unparalleled reach to connect with buyers across India’s emerging cities, audiences we already know intimately and speak to daily.
Q5. What are your expansion plans and outlook for the next few years in this sector?
We’re targeting cumulative revenues of Rs. 3,500 to 4,000 crore over the next three years, backed by a total investment outlay of approximately Rs. 450 crore. Bahraich is our launchpad. We’re actively identifying strategic locations across emerging corridors where infrastructure growth, aspirational demand, and untapped supply create compelling opportunities. The Lucknow-Bahraich corridor itself is transforming rapidly with the four-laning of NH-927, which alone will reshape regional connectivity. Our roadmap is about scaling thoughtfully and building landmark developments that reflect our brand promise while shaping modern urban living across India’s next wave of growth cities.
