From Shopping to Dandiya: Tricity Malls Gear Up for a Festive Season of Experiences

The festive season is bringing a renewed buzz to shopping destinations across the Tricity, with consumers stepping out not just for festive wear, gifts and lifestyle purchases, but also to celebrate, dine and spend time with family and friends. Increasingly, malls are becoming destinations where shopping and festive experiences converge.

In Mohali, CP67 Mall is gearing up for the festive shopping season with a mix of retail, dining, entertainment and festive activities. With fashion and lifestyle brands, restaurants, cafés and entertainment options under one roof, the mall is positioning itself as a destination where consumers can combine festive shopping with leisure and celebrations.

The changing nature of festive outings is particularly visible among families and younger consumers. A shopping trip is increasingly becoming a complete outing, with consumers looking to shop, eat, participate in activities and spend quality time together.

“Festivals have always been about coming together, and today consumers are looking for more than just a shopping trip. They want to feel the festive spirit through the entire experience. At CP67, we are bringing this alive through festive décor, Dandiya and cultural celebrations, along with initiatives such as Shop & Win that add an element of excitement and reward to the shopping journey. Our aim is to create reasons for customers to visit, participate, discover and celebrate, while offering them a strong mix of retail, dining and entertainment. We want every festive visit to CP67 to feel like an experience in itself,” said Mrinaal Mittal, Managing Director, Homeland Group.

Experience-led festive celebrations

CP67’s previous festive programming has reflected the growing interest in experience-led celebrations. During Navratras in October 2024, the mall hosted ‘Dandiya Beats at CP67’, a two-day celebration that attracted more than 700 participants. The event featured a Dandiya troupe, traditional performances and a specially created festive setup, bringing together residents from Mohali, Chandigarh and neighbouring areas.

The experience highlighted how festive activities can extend the role of a shopping destination beyond retail, creating an occasion for families, friends and younger audiences to come together.

Shopping becomes a festive outing

While apparel, footwear, accessories and gifting continue to remain central to festive shopping, consumers are increasingly looking at the overall experience. Families may combine shopping with a meal, while younger visitors may plan their outings around entertainment and festive activities.

For shopping centres, this makes the combination of retail, F&B and entertainment increasingly important. CP67’s mix of offerings allows consumers to bring multiple aspects of their festive plans together at one destination, while its Homeland Advantage programme adds a loyalty and rewards component to the shopping experience.

The connected nature of Chandigarh, Mohali , Kharar, Zirakpur and Panchkula also gives major retail destinations a wider catchment during the festive season. Consumers regularly travel across the Tricity for shopping, dining and entertainment, making festive programming an important part of attracting and engaging visitors.

As the festive calendar gathers pace, activities such as Dandiya, cultural celebrations, entertainment and family experiences are adding another dimension to festive shopping. For destinations such as CP67, the season is increasingly about creating occasions where consumers can shop, celebrate and spend time together under one roof.
